The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation’s mission is to find better treatments and cures for the movement disorders dystonia & Parkinson’s disease, and to provide medical and patient information.

For the past four years The Bachmann-Strauss Foundation has fielded a marathon team.  In 2006 10 runners raised over $34,000, in 2007 30 runners raised $125,000, in 2008 25 runners raised $135,000 and in 2009 43 runners raised over $164,000!

This year, we have a full team of 45 runners!  In exchange for receiving a number to run the ING New York City Marathon with TEAM Bachmann-Strauss, we require that each team member raise a minimum of $2,500 for The Foundation.  Our goal for the team is to raise a total of $200,000, which will provide funding for four research grants in the dystonia & Parkinson’s disease fields. The Bachmann-Strauss Foundation has a team dinner the night before the Marathon, we provide each runner with a Bachmann-Strauss Foundation racing shirt and we also provide each runner with valuable fundraising resources in order to achieve their fundraising goals.   This will allow us to create a stronger presence in our efforts to raise important funds and promote awareness for this important cause.
